Manaus (AM)- The cirandeira Vivian Ramos da Silva, 24, died in the early hours of this Sunday (4) after being one of the victims of a serious accident involving a crane in the presentation of Flor Matizada, during the 24th Festival Folclórico de Cirandas de Manacapuru.
The accident happened on the 28th of August. The cirandeira was pregnant and lost the baby after being hospitalized in serious condition at the 28 de Agosto Hospital and Emergency Room, located on Avenida Mário Ypiranga, in the Center-South area of the capital.
The young woman’s body will be veiled at the Ciranda Guerreiros Mura shed, in the Aparecida neighborhood where she lived.
After almost 1 hour of presentation, the crane broke and released a float with 23 people, which fell from a height of 10 meters, at Arena Parque Ingá, in Manacapuru.
In all, 19 victims were transferred to the capital of Amazonas. The people on vacation were between 18 and 42 years old, 14 men and 11 women.
Videos released by social networks show the moment in the serious accident that shocked the state. After what happened, one of the presenters of the Festival de Cirandas de Manacapuru explained to the public still present at the Arena the current state of health of the victims. In addition, other videos show part of the desperation on arrival at the local hospital during care for the victims of the accident.
The executive secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, Candido Jeremias, announced the suspension of the presentations. This year’s champion ciranda will be defined by a “Title of Honor”.
“It is unfortunate that these accidents happen. We are supported by the State Government and the Fire Department, Military Police. The decision has now been taken with the organizing committee, representatives of the cirandas, the public power, which has no more presentation today of Ciranda Flor Matizada”, he declared.
