Melanie Rauscher, a participant in the reality show ‘Largados e Pelados’ (Discovery Channel), has died at the age of 35 and the cause of death has been confirmed. According to the autopsy and information released by the website TMZ, Melanie died after sucking in a quantity of compressed air used in cleaning products.
The American, who was 35 years old, was found dead near the powder cans on July 17. The autopsy further revealed that Melanie used a toxic propellant, leaving her unresponsive.
The cause of death was classified as difluoroethane toxicity, known among young people as a cheaper way to get high.
Melanie was found lifeless in the guest bedroom of a house in Prescott, Arizona. The house belongs to a family who called her to take care of their dogs while they were traveling. According to Corey Kasun, a representative for the Prescott Police Department, the couple found Rauscher lying on the bed.
Melanie Rauscher participated in ‘Largados e Pelados’ in 2013. In the program, two participants (usually a man and a woman) are left in a remote location without clothes, food, water or any other kind of supplies. In this way, they need to join efforts to survive in the midst of nature. She returned in 2015 for the spin-off: ‘Largados e Pelados – A Tribo’.
