Since childhood, Luana Oliveira Machado, 11, had pain in her knee. However, it was only after a traffic accident, in March of this year, that cancer was discovered in the leg. From then on, the disease reached metastasis, reaching the child’s lung. Studying at home and using a wheelchair to get around, Luana knows what she wants for her birthday.

“My dream is to have a wig. I really liked my hair. My dream was for him to be big enough for me to be able to take care of him”, he tells g1.

The child’s mother, Luzinete Santos de Oliveira, 48, reports that her daughter’s hair began to fall out in the second chemotherapy session. “Every 15 days she is undergoing chemotherapy. There are 18 sessions, she did three. 15 more to go,” she says.

According to her, Luana grew up with pain in her left leg.. “She had bone pain, they asked for tests, we did them and the doctors said it was growth. I never suspected it was a serious illness,” she comments.

Everything changed in March of this year when the family, who lives in Bandeirantes (MS), had a car accident. “We had an accident on March 10th and in that accident she broke her leg, so they found out she had cancer in the same leg,” she recalls.

“She hadn’t been able to attend school for months, feeling short of breath, vomiting, a lot of pain in her stomach”, says her mother.

The woman follows her daughter’s battles daily. “She is sad because of her hair, because she was going to comb it and her hair kept coming out, we noticed a sadness in her. Her dream was to grow up to go to the salon to get her hair done. She wears the turban, but it’s not the same“, it says.

Luana will turn 12 on September 23. She currently uses a wheelchair to get around and no longer attends school in person. “Bring the activities home. He’s in sixth grade. She used to go to school, socialize with the children, play, she really misses walking, being able to go to school”, comments Luzinete.

With a little more than a decade of life, Luana enchants those who know her. “I never had any complaints about her at school, where she goes, she draws everyone’s attention, because she is a very good child”, says her mother.

The family accepts help to make the child’s dream come true. Contact can be made by phone (67) 9688-3999.
