“Just before it was time to leave the house, I told her to stay. I was worried”. The report belongs to the mother of a young woman who would travel in the van who was involved in a serious accident, causing the death of four residents of Apiaí, in the interior of São Paulo. To g1this Thursday (1), teacher Luciana Rodrigues de Lima, told about the mix of feeling, sadness for the tragedy and gratitude for her daughter’s life.
The accident took place in the early morning of Tuesday (30). The Apiaí Health Department van and a truck collided on the Sebastião Ferraz de Camargo Penteado Highway (SP-250). In all, four people died and three were injured. Victims traveled to perform routine medical consultations and examinations in hospitals in the Sorocaba region.

Malu Rafaelli de Lima, 18, would travel for the first time to undergo a medical consultation with a hematologist in Itapetininga. According to Luciana, the daughter performed some tests and would take the results to a specialist to analyze. However, minutes before boarding, the mother asked the young woman not to go because of a kind of ‘premonition’.
“My daughter Malu would also be in the van. Just before it was time for her to leave the house, I told her to stay. I was worried. I have never missed a scheduled appointment, as I know how difficult it is to see a specialist here in our region, but on that day I thought it was better for her to stay. I thought of the cold and her alone. I just thank God.”
Luciana told the g1 that he learned of the accident while working at the same school where his daughter studies. According to her, there was an immediate commotion. “Mixed feelings. The shock and sadness of the tragedy, and the gratitude for her life [Malu]. We thank God so much for deliverance,” he vented.

The Apiaí Health Department van hit the back of a log transport truck, which was empty at the time of the accident, which happened on August 30, around 5:15 am, on the Sebastião Ferraz de Camargo Penteado Highway (SP- 250), in Capão Bonito.
