Diesel will interrupt a series of successive rises and will fall again next Monday
O diesel should drop five cents per liter next Monday and gasoline reduce its price by 5.5 cents.
These are the estimates at the end of this Thursday, according to sources consulted by CNN Portugal, and which are calculated from the international prices of refined products.
It is recalled that, throughout this week, oil measured by the Brent index has been falling, trading below US$93 per barrel late this Thursday afternoon, after having closed at close to US$100 at the end of the week. last year and having reached $103 on Monday.
This Wednesday, the average sale price of simple diesel in mainland Portugal was 1.886 per litre, which points to a drop to around 1.836 euros next week. Simple gasoline was this Wednesday with an average final sale price of 1.78 euros, which suggests that on Monday it could drop to around 1.725 euros per litre.
After two weeks of strong increases in diesel – which, however, did not occur in gasoline -, diesel will thus fall again, although it remains more expensive than gasoline 95. On August 8, a liter of diesel cost on average 1,746 euros, up 14 cents per liter in the meantime. The decline of 5 cents next week, if confirmed, will mitigate this rise in recent weeks.
Fuel prices are free, which means that these estimates are indicative: gas stations can set the prices they want, for each station and on any day. The tradition in Portugal is that the big stirs take place on Mondays.
