President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) used social media to announce the new gasoline price reduction, this Thursday (1/9).
“New gasoline price reduction! As of tomorrow, 09/02, the average Petrobras gasoline sales price for distributors will go from R$ 3.53 to R$ 3.28 per liter, a reduction of another R$ $0.25 per litre,” the Chief Executive wrote on Twitter.
The publication was made ten minutes after the company’s announcement. Reducing taxes, especially fuel, is one of the strategies that President Jair Bolsonaro uses to promote himself in his electoral campaign, in search of reelection.
The reduction in the average price of Petrobras gasoline sales to distributors will take place as of this Friday (2/8). The value will go from R$ 3.53 to R$ 3.28 per liter, a reduction of R$ 0.25. In the last adjustment, announced almost fifteen days ago, the company updated the fuel price by 4.85%.
