One of Vila Nova’s promises, Rian, just 20 years old, is looking for more space at the club. Being able to play as a midfielder and right-back, he made his debut for the professionals last year, but it was his performances in the under-20s that are making fans and management look closely at the athlete. The versatile player has already spoken in other interviews about his preference for playing on the wing, but he understands the importance of playing well in another position on the field.
“It is always important for a player to play more than one position today and I am ready to help the team in any of the two. Marking and passing quality are two strong characteristics in my style of play, I believe this makes it easier to play as a midfielder too. It wasn’t easy, but today I assume I’m better adapted. I have my preference for the side, but the important thing is to help Vila, now where I leave it to Higo (laughs)”, said Rian.
Having scored a goal in the Copa São Paulo, Rian confessed that it was a memorable moment, despite the elimination of the team from Goiás. As for the professionals, Rian was also asked about his experienced colleagues at the club, such as Fernando, Quintero, Henrique Almeida, among others.
“It’s always a very good experience, happy to have scored a goal, but on the other hand a little frustrated that we didn’t qualify for the next round. Regarding these players, it is a privilege to be able to be with them every day. They are winners and I try to absorb as much as possible from what they say and do. It’s about following the same path that each of them took to get to where they are,” he concluded.
