Anvisa issued a shocking ban on Carrefour brand products
The National Health Surveillance Agency, Anvisa, is responsible for monitoring all products that will reach consumers. And this will range from food to cosmetics and medicines. We will talk about the ban on the sale of a batch of Carrefour brand salt, which even made news on Jornal da Globo.
Whenever a company fails the agency’s safety measures, its product is pulled from the shelves and that is precisely what happened with this product. In this publication, however, we will talk about a recommendation from Anvisa that issued a warning about the batch of salt.
According to information from G1, a newspaper that is part of Grupo Globo, Anvisa banned the sale, distribution, manufacture and use of batch 22992 of Carrefour brand salt. The news was confirmed in July 2023 and had a huge impact on consumers of the product.
Furthermore, Carrefour also highlighted that it requested “immediately the withdrawal of the product from batch 22992 in all stores” where it is in stock and that it is “in contact with the supplier to investigate the fact”. It is worth remembering that the problem has been resolved and today the brand can function normally.
