A man died and four other people were injured, including a child, after an accident involving a trailer and cars on GO-174, between Rio Verde and Montividiu, in the southwest region of Goiás. The trailer was loaded with soy which, with the impact, spilled onto the track.
The collision happened on Friday night (2), but until Saturday morning (3), according to the State Highway Police (PRE), the section remained closed for the total removal of the load. The truck driver was not injured.
According to the Fire Department, there were three passengers in one of the cars. Two were transported by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) to the Montividiu Municipal Hospital. People informed the military that the victims were a father and daughter, a child of approximately 8 years old.
The third person in the vehicle is a 41-year-old woman, who was taken to the Municipal University Hospital of Rio Verde. According to the corporation, she had several injuries to her face and was suspected of having traumatic brain injury. When she was rescued, she also complained of pain in her back.
In the second vehicle, there were two men. One of them was approximately 50 years old, got stuck in the wreckage and died at the scene. The other is 25, and was taken to the hospital with several cuts and bruises on his body.
A third car was also involved in the accident, but there are no reports of injuries.
