The Hospital da Providência, in Apucarana, released this Saturday (3) a medical report of the woman in labor who suffered a traffic accident with the ambulance from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) on Friday afternoon (2 ), on PR-170, between Novo Itacolomi and Borrazópolis.
The woman underwent a cesarean section and had a boy. “Hospital da Providência and Hospital da Providência Materno Infantil inform that the patient was admitted this Friday to Hospital da Providência Materno Infantil and underwent a cesarean section, being transferred after the procedure to Hospital da Providência. The baby remains in the Newborn Unit of the Maternal and Child Hospital and is stable and on room air. The patient is also stable and remains hospitalized with no expected hospital discharge.“, says the statement.

The woman, who is from Borrazópolis, did not have her age disclosed. She was in a Samu ambulance, from Faxinal, when she was hit by a trailer on PR-170 this Friday afternoon. Four other people were injured: two companions and two Samu employees (the driver and a nursing technician).
Care for the victims mobilized several emergency teams, including two helicopters from the aeromedical service, which transported the most seriously ill patients. The most delicate situation was that of the ambulance driver, who suffered several injuries and was trapped in the ambulance. The remaining patients had moderate to severe injuries.
