The trailer released by Nintendo confirms that the Switch version will have more than 130 stages and a two-player mode. In the remake, players will also find the new worlds Merry Mini-Land and Slippery Summit, which will bring new locations and new enemies with unique gameplay mechanics.
Players will be able to unlock Plus Levels and Expert Levels as they progress through the adventure, in addition to Time Attack mode. Another highlight is the Casual difficulty, which will make the game easier for casual players.
Mario vs. Donkey Kong was the spiritual successor to the 1994 Game Boy version of Donkey Kong. It allowed Mario to perform new moves and gave rise to six other games, but they were puzzle-solving oriented and had gameplay similar to the Lemmings title.
The last game in the series was Mini Mario & Friends: Amiibo Challenge, released for the Wii U and 3DS exclusively on the eShop. As the consoles’ virtual store has already been closed, it can no longer be played in a traditional way.
