In an interview with CARAS Brasil, William Nascimento reveals that he personally met Anderson Silva only after recording part of the series
With a 15-year career, the actor William Nascimento (30) faced a huge challenge when being cast to star in the series Anderson Spider Silva, from Paramout+. In an interview with CARAS Brazilthe artist revealed behind-the-scenes details of the production, which he needed to prepare for almost a year to bring the MMA fighter to life Anderson Silva (45).
“The preparation for the fight was very intense. I trained 4 hours a day doing muay thai, jiu jitsu, boxing and capoeira. I spent 2 months training in Rio de Janeiro at the Bunker gym and 5 months training with master Rodrigo Alves in São Paulo “reveals.
During this process, William did not get close to Andersson and ended up only meeting him in person a few weeks before the project was officially released on the platform. “Because he lives in the USA and is working on a film as an actor, it was not possible for us to have this face-to-face meeting. But Anderson was also fundamental to the creation of my character together with my trainers Estrela Straus and Mel Mariah”details.
As a result of a social project that provided opportunities for young people from Morro do Vidigal, the popular Nós do Morro, the actor has celebrated his prominence in the project, which he considers the biggest challenge of his career so far. “It’s been a turning point for me. I confess that at the moment of approval I was very happy, but also very nervous, knowing the responsibility of giving life to the global idol that is Anderson”account.

“I don’t know if there is a right time or a wrong time, but I believe that God does things in a very perfect way. It was at the time he wanted and thought I was prepared. I played my part, seizing this opportunity with my nails and teeth and I’m loving the result“.
According to William, having gained this opportunity to be at the forefront of a high-production series is important to encourage other people who were born in the outskirts of the world and who, like him, fight hard to have their talent recognized.
“Today, with this achievement, I’m happy to be able to show my peripheral brothers that it’s possible to achieve. That it’s worth insisting and not giving up. I’m very happy to be the protagonist of a mostly black series in which we talk about love, affection, persistence and family. I’m very happy to see black and peripheral audiences feeling represented”ends.
