The animation and contagious rhythm of the Akatu pagode band promise to open Ouro Preto’s carnival with a flourish. With the confirmation of the presence of the band from Minas Gerais on February 8th, Thursday, the historic city is preparing to host an engaging musical spectacle.

Akatu, known for its contagious energy and hits that marked the music scene, officially announced its participation in the Ouro Preto carnival by releasing the agenda for the festive season, including the city on the list of destinations.

Akatu, formed by Angelo, Caique, Lucas, Lukas Gabriel and BEG, emerged in 2015 in the capital of Minas Gerais, conquering space in the music scene. The name, which means “Good Seed” and “Better World” in Tupi, reflects the group’s proposal. With six years of experience, the band mixes original songs and samba and pagode hits, exciting the public with their irreverent style. In addition to shows, Akatu also stands out in audiovisual production, releasing CDs, DVDs and records throughout its career. The most recent, “Encontro de Gerações” with Revelação, marks a new phase and consolidation on the national scene.
