Two helicopters from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) were called to respond to an accident between a trailer and an ambulance carrying a pregnant woman in labor, on Friday afternoon (2), on PR-170, in Nova Itacolomi, in the north of Paraná.
According to the State Highway Police (PRE), the ambulance and the truck collided head-on on a curved section.
The vehicle took the pregnant woman to a hospital in Apucarana. The driver, a nursing technician and two companions were also inside the vehicle.
In addition to the two helicopters, several ambulances were called to respond to the incident.
According to Samu, the pregnant woman had minor injuries. She and two other people were injured and taken to hospitals in Apucarana.
The ambulance driver is in serious condition and was taken to a helicopter in Maringá. Another person was also in serious condition and was taken to a hospital in Londrina.
The hospital where the pregnant woman was taken stated that it is not authorized to inform her health status.
