Compared to the end of December, the declines reach 1% for both fuels

According to the analysis of the Edenred Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL), a survey that consolidates the price behavior of transactions at gas stations, providing a precise average, the average price of a liter of diesel continues to fall in the country at the beginning of year. The common type closed January at R$5.97, a reduction of 0.33%, compared to the first half of the month. The S-10 was sold at R$6.10, after becoming 0.65% cheaper.

“When compared to December, the reductions in regular diesel and S-10 reach 1.16% and 1.45%. This price behavior tends to change from February 1st, due to the beginning of the new ICMS rates, which should result in an increase in the price passed on to drivers”, observes Douglas Pina, General Director of Mobility at Edenred Brasil .

Almost all regions showed a decline in the value of a liter of both types of diesel, and only the South registered stability for the common type, compared to the first fortnight, sold at R$ 5.83. The S-10 type sold in the region closed at R$5.87. Both averages were the lowest in the entire country. The highest averages were identified in gas stations in the North Region, where the common closed January at R$6.59 and the S-10 at R$6.51.

Among the states, Santa Catarina had the most significant national reduction for regular diesel, 3.95%, compared to the first 15 days of January, and closed at R$5.83. Even so, the lowest price for a liter was that of pumps in Tocantins, at R$5.61. Alagoas led the ranking for the biggest increase for regular diesel, 1.83%, with a liter at R$6.13. However, the highest average was recorded in Amapá, at R$7.36.

The S-10 diesel with the biggest reduction, of -1.15%, was found at the fuel pumps in Tocantins, where the price per liter closed at R$ 6.03. However, the lowest average was recorded in Rio Grande do Sul, at R$5.86. Among the states, only Amapá showed an increase in the price of S-10 diesel, of 0.14%, which closed the month at R$7.39. This was also the highest national average for the fuel.

The IPTL is a fuel price index based on supplies made at 21,000 accredited Edenred Ticket Log stations, which is highly reliable due to the number of vehicles managed by the brand: 1 million in total, with an average of eight transactions per second. Edenred Ticket Log, a brand from Edenred Brasil’s Mobility business line, has more than 30 years of experience and adapts to customer needs, offering modern and innovative solutions in order to simplify daily processes.
