At least 40 people were rescued after the accident between a bus and two trucks this Friday (2), on BR-163, in Naviraí. They were taken by the Fire Department team, CCR MSVia and a city ambulance to the Municipal Hospital. The driver of one of the vehicles died at the scene.
According to information from the concessionaire, it is not yet known whether the driver who died was from one of the trucks or the second driver of the bus that left Sinop, in Mato Grosso, bound for Cascavel (Paraná). Only forensics can confirm the information and also the dynamics of the accident.
The accident mobilized four vehicles from the Naviraí Fire Department, two from CCR MSVia, one from the city hall, teams from the PRF (Federal Highway Police) and even one from the National Force. The track where the crash occurred had to be closed, with no provision for reopening.
The Primeira Página report contacted the city hospital to obtain information about the condition of the injured, but they did not respond by the time this edition was published.
In a note, CCR MSVia Via informed that:
“The CCR MSVia Operational Control Center received at 12:05 pm this Friday, 02/02, information of an accident at km 135 of BR-163/MS heading north, in the region of Naviraí (MS).
According to information, there was a head-on collision involving two trucks and a bus with 41 passengers. Teams from the Dealership, Fire Department and municipal ambulances worked together to care for the victims.
In total, there were 31 unharmed victims, 8 victims with moderate injuries, 3 victims in serious condition and 1 death.
The Concessionaire also informs that traffic in the area has already started to be released through the ‘stop and go’ system. The result, at the moment, is 5 kilometers of congestion in the north direction and 7 kilometers of congestion in the south direction”.
