Google car rolls over after being involved in an accident in Medianeira
A security camera recorded the moment a Google car was involved in an accident and subsequently overturned in Medianeira, in western Paraná. Watch the video above.
In the video, it is possible to see the multinational vehicle traveling along Avenida João XXII. Upon arriving at the corner of Rua Riachuelo, he is hit by another car traveling along the road.
After the crash, the Fire Department was called to respond to the incident. In the Google vehicle, there was a driver from São Paulo, according to firefighters.
To the corporation, he stated that he did not know the city’s streets which, in his words, have “different intersections”.
The driver was conscious, apparently uninjured and refused medical attention.
In the other car involved in the crash were a woman and a 10-year-old boy.
According to the corporation, the child had abrasions on one of his legs. The woman, who is the victim’s mother, refused to be taken to the hospital and stated that, in case of changes, she would send the boy to medical care.
O g1 contacted Google, which stated that it would soon provide clarifications about the accident.
O g1 He also asked what specific application the vehicle is from, which, because it has cameras on the top, resembles cars from the Google Maps application.
According to the PM, the preference, in this case, is for drivers who travel along Rua Riachuelo and there is even signage on site to guide drivers.
“Theoretically, the other car involved would have preference, but we cannot say that both drivers were paying due attention because if they were, the accident would perhaps not have occurred,” the PM said in a statement.
