Midfielder Dimas Cândido, from the Corinthians under-20 team, detailed the last moments of the 19-year-old girl who died in her apartment, in a statement to the Civil Police on Wednesday (31).
The player confirmed that he had been talking to Livia Gabriele da Silva Matos on social media for a few months, but the first meeting had only been arranged the day before. According to the player, the girl arrived alone, without drinks or drugs – just two electronic cigarettes, found at the scene.
According to the website F5, Dimas detailed that the couple had sex for the first time. He only noticed the fainting and then the bleeding in the young woman’s vaginal area when they had a second sexual encounter. Faced with this fact, he called the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU), which advised him to start the cardiac massage procedure.

SAMU provided assistance, taking the victim by ambulance to the hospital. Lívia suffered four cardiac arrests: one in the player’s apartment, one on the way to the hospital, and two in the emergency room.
Young woman’s father testifies
The victim’s father, Rubens Chagas Matos, also gave a statement. According to him, the hemorrhage occurred through a five-centimeter cut in the young woman’s vagina – the information would have been passed on to him by the doctor who treated her.
According to the RIC portal, Matos accuses Dimas of having been insensitive to the situation, saying that the athlete showed no concern or any feeling while the doctors tried to revive Lívia – which would have caused an argument between the two.
Questioned by F5, Lieutenant Lucas Sarri, who responded to the incident, reported that “all parties were calm, no one was upset or showing any unusual behavior”.
Dimas’ apartment, in Tatuapé, East Zone of São Paulo, was inspected on the night of his death. The case continues to be investigated as a suspicious death.
