During the early hours of this Thursday (1), two accidents were recorded on BR-381, at km 524 and 525, sections managed by the concessionaire Arteris Fernão Dias, in the city of Brumadinho. The accidents recorded at least twenty victims.
According to Arteris, A truck was heading towards São Paulo, when it hit the back of a second vehicle, then crashed into the concrete barrier of the median, with the cabin torn away and the truck overturned across two lanes and on the shoulder. The second vehicle fled the scene and has not yet been identified.
The driver was rescued in serious condition by teams from the Arteris Fernão Dias concessionaire, and sent to the Prefeito Osvaldo Rezende Franco Regional Public Hospital, in Betim.
The accident caused congestion at the location, at which time the driver of a trailer loaded with tires, which was also heading towards São Paulo, lost control due to brake failure and crashed into vehicles that were stopped in the congestion caused by the first accident.
The driver of the truck jumped out of the moving vehicle to save himself.. He was rescued by the dealership team and was also taken to the hospital, in Betim.
The trailer collided with two other trailers, a truck and a van. The accident recorded another 18 victims with minor injuries who refused medical attention.
The road is completely closed, with congestion of approximately 8 km.
