Presentation would take place on December 31st, in front of Blumenau City Hall
Singer Daniel’s show, which was to take place on New Year’s Eve in Blumenau, was canceled by the city hall this Monday, 20th. The artist was scheduled to perform on December 31st, in front of Blumenau City Hall, in a free event.
The presentation was released by the city hall on June 26th. The event would be the last show of the year on the Daniel 40 Anos Celebra João Paulo & Daniel tour, which celebrates four decades in activity and also pays tribute to the singer with whom Daniel formed a duo at the beginning of his career.
According to information published on Mayor Mário Hildebrandt’s profile, the reason for the cancellation was due to the various difficulties that the city is experiencing in 2023. He also cites the sixth flood in less than 60 days.
“With these difficulties, some actions need to be reviewed. Challenges with the high costs of cleaning streets and containment and drainage works require millions of resources. Oktoberfest was great, but unfortunately it didn’t produce the expected results and it is the festival that pays for events such as Easter, Christmas and New Year’s Eve in Blumenau. The event will still happen, just without the singer Daniel”.
The mayor also informed that the schedule will be reorganized and will be announced soon.
