An 18-year-old retrainer was found dead with signs of strangulation inside the Major Eldo de Sá Correa Penitentiary, known as Mata Grande, in Rondonópolis (212 km from Cuiabá), on Tuesday afternoon (14). The victim was identified as Alessandro Dias do Nascimento and had been in the prison unit for a few days.

According to information gathered by the report, a team from the Homicide and Personal Protection Police Station (DHPP) was called at 3:15 pm to release a body from the prison.

At the scene, the criminal police reported that they came across Alessandro’s body lying on the ground outside, already lifeless. The unit’s health team confirmed the death of the victim, who had signs of strangulation.

Alessandro arrived in Mata Grande a few days ago and lived in cell 2 of Raio II, where he lived with ten other re-educated students.

According to the Civil Police, on November 5th he was involved in a fight in Itiquira, where he stabbed two people.

The young man’s body was collected and removed to the Legal Medical Institute (IML). There is no information about who committed the crime.

The Civil Police investigates the case.
