Civilian seeks involvement in attempted robbery that caused the death of a police officer in Barra | Rio de Janeiro

Rio – A poster with the title “Who is He?” was released by Hotline Denúncia this Wednesday (15) to help find a second person involved in the attempted robbery of civil police officer Wellington Lourenço Soares in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone, last week.

The case happened last Wednesday (8), when Wellington, which was assigned to the 52nd DP (Nova Iguaçu), was leaving a restaurant on Avenida Lúcio Costa. At the time, two men on a motorcycle approached him to carry out the robbery.

He reacted and shot one of the robbers, who died at the scene. The agent was admitted to Lourenço Jorge Municipal Hospital, also in Barra, after being shot in the arm and back, but suffered respiratory arrest and did not resist.

The case is being investigated by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), which carried out an investigation at the scene and is looking for information that could identify the second person involved in the crime.
