Elderly man seriously injured after accident between motorcycle and bicycle in San Francisco | Grande Minas

An elderly man, aged 72, was seriously injured and had to be intubated after the bicycle he was riding was involved in an accident with a motorcycle on Tuesday night (15), in San Francisco.

According to the Military Police, the motorcycle was driven by a 15-year-old teenager. He told the police that he was traveling along Rua Agabo Ribas, and that when passing through the intersection with ua Presidente Costa e Silva, he collided with the bicycle, which was being driven by the elderly man. The minor said that the victim was speeding, and that the elderly man had not respected the mandatory stop sign.

The victim was rescued by SAMU and taken to the Municipal Hospital in serious condition, requiring intubation of the patient. The doctor found that the victim had consumed alcohol. Witnesses told the police that moments before the accident the elderly man was drinking in a bar nearby.

According to the PM, after investigation, it was found that the elderly man ignored the stop sign. Due to the minor being disqualified, a Traffic Violation Notice was issued. He did not require medical attention and said he was not injured in the accident.

The owner of the motorcycle was not located. As the vehicle had regular licensing, it was handed over to the teenager’s father.
