A 44-year-old woman and a 45-year-old driver were arrested red-handed after the death of a 2-year-old child forgotten in school transport van, on Tuesday, 14th, in the Vila Maria region, in the north of the capital. According to the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), they were fined for intentional homicide. The defense of those involved was not located by the report.
According to the police, the victim had boarded at his residence in the morning. The driver left the vehicle in a parking lot, without realizing that the child was still inside. In the afternoon, when he returned to pick up the van, he found the child passed out due to the intense heat and lack of air circulation.
“The child was passed out and was taken to the Vereador José Storopolli Municipal Hospital, where he was pronounced dead”, informed the SSP. Exams were requested from the Legal Medical Institute (IML).
According to the SSP, which did not provide the names of the detainees, the reports are being prepared. The case was registered at the 73rd Police District in Jaçanã.
