An intriguing Muay Thai matchup has been added to ONE Fight Night 17 on Prime Video, as decorated British striker Ellis “El Jefe” Barboza will make his promotional debut against emerging Thai star Thongpoon PK Saenchai.
The two knockout artists will throw down in a 120-pound catchweight contest live in US primetime on December 8 at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
At just 23 years old, Barboza has already established himself as one of Europe’s top talents.
An English Muay Thai Champion and a WBC European Muay Thai Champion, he currently honors his craft at the famous Fairtex Training Center in Pattaya, Thailand.
With his well-rounded technical game, ruthless finishing instincts, and unwavering self-belief, “El Jefe” has all the tools to make waves in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
However, he has been given the toughest assignment of his career for his ONE debut.
A veteran of more than 100 career fights, Thongpoon has looked nothing short of sensational throughout a trio of performances at ONE Friday Fights this year, scoring two highlight-reel finishes in addition to an action-packed decision win.
In his most recent outing, the 26-year-old defeated compatriot Yangdam Sor Tor Hiewbangsaen to secure a coveted six-figure contract with ONE and further cement his status as one of Thailand’s best – and most electrifying – Muay Thai fighters.
