The 20-year-old son of actress Reese Witherspoon and actor Ryan Phillippe is being criticized on social media for showing off the luxurious apartment where he lives in New York while studying at university. A student at New York University, young Deacon Phillippe opened his home for a visit from influencer Caleb Simpson, followed by more than 7.8 million people on TikTok.
The video shows Deacon proudly flaunting his home. During much of the filming he appears holding a bottle of the French water brand Perrier. Asked about the value of his rent, the boy laughs and says: “West Village price”, in reference to the New York neighborhood in which the apartment is located.
Throughout the video, Deacon tours the two floors of the property. He shows off his vinyl collection, draws attention to some works of art installed on the walls and takes Caleb Simpson to his room. There he shows the computer on which he records his music. Singer, he released his first album, ‘A New Earth’, last April.
“Rich young people love not to mention their extremely rich parents,” wrote one person in the video’s comments space. “Let’s remember who his parents are, extremely rich celebrities,” said another. “Occupation: son of celebrities”, provoked a third. “How much do you pay? Correct answer: ask mom and dad,” someone else shared.
Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillipe were married between 1998 and 2005. In addition to Deacon, during their period together they also had Ava (24 years old). Oscar winner for her work in ‘Johnny & June’ (2005), the actress is also the mother of Tennessee (11 years old), born during her marriage to businessman Jim Toth, between 2011 and 2023. Ryan Phillippe is still a father by Kai (12 years old), from his romance with model Alexis Knapp.
