This new project reinforces the company’s commitment to providing employment opportunities for women in the mining industry. The first offer of this initiative is already being made available, with 22 vacancies for the position of truck operator. Registration is open until November 26th.

To participate in the selection, candidates must meet certain requirements, including being over 21 years old, preferably living in Caeté, Nova Lima, Raposos or Sabará, being available to work shifts at the Cuiabá mine, in Sabará, and having a professional license. license in category D. Experience in the position is not a mandatory requirement, as candidates will undergo a post-employment development and training program.

Currently, women represent 13.5% of AngloGold Ashanti’s workforce in Brazil. The Vice President of Human Resources, Felipe Fagundes, highlights the company’s commitment to transforming the mining industry scenario and establishing new standards of gender equality in terms of job vacancies offered.

In addition to the “Women of Gold” program, AngloGold Ashanti develops PRO, a professional qualification program that aims to train local labor, contributing to economic development and job creation in the communities in which it operates. To date, 87 students have been qualified in cities in Minas Gerais and Goiás. In the first edition, held in 2022, 52 women graduated in Nova Lima, Caeté and Crixás, Goiás.

The courses covered areas such as Industrial Electrician, Automotive Electrical and Industrial Mechanics. In September this year, 16 students completed the Industrial Mechanical Maintenance course in Crixás, while another 19 graduated as Geology Assistants in Caeté.
