A 22-year-old man was killed with at least ten shots on Tuesday night (14) in Campo Belo (MG). According to the Military Police, the motivation was a debt of R$12,000 between the victim and the perpetrator. The suspect was detained.
According to the Minas Gerais Military Police, the victim was shot at Praça Vereador Mauro de Souza, in the Feira neighborhood, at around 11pm. They were called by Samu, who was already assisting the victim.
Leandro Pablo de Melo, 22, died at the scene. According to the PM, 17 firearm capsules were seized and the area was isolated for the Civil Police’s technical expertise. The body was sent to IML.
Leandro will be laid to rest from 2pm in the chapel of the Central Municipal Velório. The body will be buried at 5:30 pm at São Benedito Cemetery. He leaves a wife and two children.
The PM reported that after collecting information, it was discovered that last Saturday (11) the victim had fought with the suspect while collecting a debt worth R$12,000. The author who owed Leandro would have threatened him with death if he made a new charge.
Faced with suspicion, the police went to the house of the possible perpetrator. The suspect’s father allowed the soldiers to enter, who found a motorcycle with a still hot engine in the garage. Relatives were unable to say whether he stayed at home the entire time.
Nothing was found inside the property. In the garden of the house, in a kind of drum, the soldiers found material for packaging drugs, five bushes of marijuana and debt notes. No weapons were located.
According to the PM, the suspect told the military that he had a debt of R$3,000, but did not confirm that it was owed to the dead victim. He was detained.
The Civil Police reported that the 25-year-old man was taken and will be interviewed through the 2nd State Digital Duty Center. Judicial police procedures are ongoing. According to Civil, the crime and motivation will be investigated.
