The two gave testimony on Tuesday (14), after the boy’s death was confirmed by doctors at the Hospital Municipal Vereador José Storopolli, in Parque Novo Mundo. The driver took Apollo Gabriel to the unit after finding him unconscious inside the van when searching for the vehicle in the parking lot
The police suspect that the boy died due to the heat, but reports are still awaited to identify the cause of Apollo Gabriel’s death.
The boy’s grandmother, Luzinete Rodrigues dos Santos, said that the driver and assistant had the habit of checking the list of children transported. In the police report, this fact was commented on by the driver and said that the error may have been made due to a migraine and discomfort that one of them felt.
“It was not their fault, but it was irresponsible. My daughter wants justice. Whoever takes care of children has to be extremely responsible,” said the boy’s grandmother in an interview with TV Globo.
