The sports consultant, Rodrigo Cardoso Guedes, 31 years old, found buried in Volta Redonda (RJ) was killed with blows to the head, according to information released by the Civil Police this Wednesday morning (15).
According to the expert report, he had a large fracture in the back of his head. Police believe the injury was caused by tools such as a shovel and hoe.
Rodrigo had not been seen since last Tuesday, the 7th, when he left home with his cell phone and his father’s car and, since then, he has not heard from him.
His girlfriend arrived at the Volta Redonda police station on Monday (13) to report the disappearance.
In her statement, she said that she thought Rodrigo was at the family home, as he had a habit of “disappearing” after a disagreement with her. However, Rodrigo’s father contacted her for news about his son last Saturday (11).
The body was found with the help of drones, which searched a suspected area where a body that could be Rodrigo was located. At the scene, police found tools used to dig holes and a sneaker that belonged to the victim.
Two men are investigated
According to the Civil Police, two men are being investigated on suspicion of involvement in the homicide.
One of them is arrested. The other is identified as the leader of drug trafficking in the Monte Castelo neighborhood.
His partner was arrested on Tuesday (14) with drugs. With her, 40 cocaine capsules and two communication radios were seized. The woman was taken to the Volta Redonda police station and is at the disposal of the Court.
According to the Civil Police, the man, identified as the drug leader, fled when he saw the agents approaching.
The homicide continues to be investigated by the Civil Police to identify the perpetrators and the motivation for the crime.
