The Criminal Court of the district of Timbó, in Vale do Itajaí, will hold this Thursday (11/16), starting at 9am, the trial of the mother and stepfather accused of killing an 11-year-old child in April 2022. The case had wide social repercussions and shocked the entire community in the region. The Jury Court session takes place in the new district building.
According to the MPSC complaint, on April 13 last year, inside the couple’s residence, the accused beat the 11-year-old girl to death, caused by polytrauma. After the murder, committed for futile and base reasons, the accused erased the memory of their cell phones and began cleaning and reorganizing the crime scene to prevent the discovery of the truth.
Also according to the complaint, before the girl’s murder, on several and continuous occasions, the couple subjected the victim to intense physical and psychological violence, under the undue pretext of applying personal punishment and preventive measures so that the girl behaved in accordance with their wishes. wishes. Afraid that the injuries and violence would be revealed, they still kept the minor deprived of her liberty.
The defendants will be subjected to trial by the Jury Court for the crimes of qualified homicide for base motives, futile motives, cruel means, use of a resource that made the victim’s defense difficult and feminicide, torture, false imprisonment, rape of a vulnerable person and procedural fraud. In addition to the interrogation of the defendants, five witnesses were called and will be heard. The couple has been in preventive detention since April 15, 2022.
