After the announcement of The Legend of Zelda live-action film, fans soon began casting their dream cast. At the top of the list to play Princess Zelda came the name of Hunter Schafer, star of Euphoria.
During the London premiere of her new film, The Hunger Games: A Song of Birds and Snakes, the actress commented (via Variety) what she thought of the fans’ choice:
“That would be really cool,” Schafer said of playing Zelda in the live-action film. “I love the game, personally. I played it as a kid and I still play it today. Who knows! That would be really cool”.
The games’ creator and developer, Shigeru Miyamoto, announced on https://twitter.com/Nintendo/status/1722011980129779795?s=20the live-action film based on The Legend of Zelda,
“This is Miyamoto. I have been working on The Legend of Zelda live-action film for many years with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many highly successful films.”
He continued: “I asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially begun development on the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take some time to complete, but I hope you are looking forward to seeing it.”

Plot and cast details have not yet been revealed, but the games revolve around Link, who sets out to defeat the forces of evil (usually commanded by Ganon) and rescue Zelda, the princess of Hyrule.
The film will be directed by Wes Ball, who helmed the Maze Runner trilogy and the upcoming Reign of the Planet of the Apes.
The script is by Derek Connolly, known for his work on Jurassic World and Kong: Skull Island.
The latest release in the Zelda franchise is 2023’s Tears of the Kingdom, which sold more than 10 million copies in its first three days.
There is still no release date for The Legend of Zelda film.
