The first day of São Paulo Fashion Week ended with newcomer Artemisi last Wednesday (8/11). The designer behind the apocalyptic designs that conquered the Brazilian pop scene and even Demi Lovato at The Town, in September, is Mayari Jubinijust 28 years old – and four years old.
Since she was a child, art and cinema have always been at the designer’s side. And, to highlight the way she found to access new worlds in her childhood, the designer transferred her references from the seventh art to the SPFW catwalk, at Komplexo Tempo, in Mooca.
+ After all, why did SPFW end up in Mooca and what does the São Paulo neighborhood have to do with fashion?
Using a variety of techniques, Artemisi presented the collection Requiem For The Timewhere the viewer is inserted into the futurism of the brand that explores ways of making a piece in the most unusual ways possible.
“The brand talks about futurism, so we couldn’t fail to address this topic. We talk about time, with past and future interconnected”, says the Marie Claire. The name also alludes to the title of the film. Requiem for a Dream (2000), adapted by Mayari when proposing a presentation that portrays “the death of time”.

The collection consists of 24 looks based on black, silver, gold, gray, wine, blue and off-white. They feature 3D printed pieces with different shapes, textures and transparencies, in addition to 3D printing fused onto the fabric, including embroidery, hand painting and prints, three-dimensionality created with modeling and pieces entirely assembled by hand — up to an entire look made in steel. This is quite heavy, as the behind-the-scenes report proved.
Until 2019, Mayari Jubini had only one dream: to have her own clothing brand. Born in the interior of Espírito Santo, she had no access to the world of fashion, which seemed to be light years away from the simple and typically Brazilian childhood she had.

But little did I know that before long, I would be wearing names like Luisa Sonza, Pablo Vittar, Bianca Andrade, Anita, Iza, Ludmilla, Gloria Grooveand international stars Demi Lovato It is Julia Fox. “It was totally organic. I never had a press office, nothing,” he says.

Backstage at the parade, Isabeli Fontana went to greet the designer in person. The model said that she was introduced to the brand just the day before the show and couldn’t help but check it out up close. “I fell in love. I said: she is my perfect fit, she is very wonderful”, she says.
