Four years after the death of Spanish player José Antonio Reyes, who played for teams such as Real Madrid and Sevilla, Noelia López, the midfielder’s widow, found, among forgotten boxes, a love note left by her husband, wishing her a happy Valentine’s Day. The information is from Globe Sports.

“I just received an order from Ikea [empresa de móveis] I had done to organize some little things that I still kept in boxes. I found this,” Noelia shared on social media.

Then she added to the post. “I feel affection every time I find a sign. Today, some words have more strength. Lately I have felt so many signs. Someday I will tell them to you.”

The player died at the age of 35 in a car accident in Utrera, Sevilla, in 2019. His cousin Jonathan also died at the time, while another passenger in the vehicle, Juan Manuel Calderón, suffered burns to more than 60% of his body.

Reyes played eight years for Sevilla, where he became the youngest athlete to debut in the top flight for the club. At the time, he was just 16 years old. The striker also played for Arsenal, Real Madrid, Atlético de Madrid, Benfica, Espanyol, Córdoba and Xinjiang Tianshan Leopard, from China. When he suffered the accident that killed him, Reyes was playing for Extremadura, in the Spanish second division.
