‘Ney Mentira’, suspected of planning the death of the mother of a former senator’s daughter, surrenders to the police

The suspect of planning the death of the mother of former senator Telmário Mota’s daughter, Harrison Nei Correa Mota, known as “Ney Mentira”, handed himself in to the Roraima Civil Police on Wednesday night (08), around 6:30 pm. He is being heard at the District for the Repression of Organized Criminal Actions (Draco).

Ney Mentira had been on the run for eight days, following the arrest warrant for his involvement in the death of Antônia Araújo Sousa, 52 years old, which occurred on September 29, in the Senador Hélio Campos neighborhood. The woman left her home when she was approached by a man who asked her name and, upon confirming, she was shot once in the head.

According to the progress of the investigations, Ney would be responsible for the logistics and planning of the death of Telmário Mota’s wife. The crime was carried out by LLC

The former senator is imprisoned in Goiás awaiting transfer to the state of Roraima.
