Trio convicted of murder of retired police officer in bar in SC | Santa Catarina

According to the Civil Police, the armed group tried to steal the victim’s truck, which was in a bar in Criciúma, in the south of Santa Catarina, and a shot hit the police officer. The case happened on January 6th.

The defendants were convicted of the crimes of armed robbery (robbery followed by death) and corruption of minors. The retired police officer’s gun was taken by the criminals.

The victim arrived at the establishment five minutes before the criminals took action, who announced a robbery, according to the Civil Police, through the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) of Criciúma. The deputy drew his own gun to stop the robbery, but one of the bandits returned fire and shot him.

According to the Civil Police, the Court’s decision defined the initial closed regime for serving the sentence, denying the right to appeal freely. O g1 SC sought the Court of Justice of Santa Catarina, but received no response until the last update of the text.

In total, four criminals and a teenager were involved in the robbery, according to police. Two of the robbers were arrested less than 24 hours after the crime and the minor was apprehended.

In a press conference in January, delegates Yuri Miqueluzzi, coordinator of the Robbery Repression Division (DRR/DIC), and Vitor Bianco Júnior, head of the Criciúma Regional Office, detailed the actions that led to the arrest of the suspects.

“The perpetrators’ intention was to carry out a robbery at the bar. Three armed people got out of the white vehicle, wearing hoods and announced the crime”, reiterated Miqueluzzi.
