A fire in a truck causes the closure of BR-277 towards Curitiba this Wednesday morning (8). The situation happened in Balsa Nova, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba (RMC). The truck driver died amid the flames. See the video below.
The fire happened exactly at the old São Luís do Purunã tollbooth. The PRF was mobilized to the scene, along with the firefighters.
“We don’t know for sure what happened, what caused the accident. The victim, who was the driver, died, we don’t know if it was due to the fire or the accident. The fire was not in the cargo but in the cabin. We managed to contain the fire and the leak.”said midshipman Buzatto, from the Fire Department.
The trailer, according to initial information from the PRF, is loaded with vegetable oil. A video circulating on social media shows the vehicle completely engulfed in flames. Look:
Due to the fire, the Curitiba direction of the highway was closed. There is still no information about the total release of the section which, according to the PRF, is partially flowing, within the toll booth.
