The RAM 1500 Ramcharger is the newest member of the “sheep brand” pickup family. And it arrives on the United States market with a big new engine.
The powerful Pentastar 3.6 V6 combustion engine, used by Stellantis in other models in the line, this time is not the main thing responsible for the truck’s absurd power, or for making the wheels of the imposing model spin.
The V6, in fact, will have “multiple functions”, according to the brand. This means that it can either work in conjunction with the 92 kWh battery to provide maximum power to the wheels, or be an energy generator to charge the system.

Unlimited autonomy is the promise of RAM
This version of the RAM 1500 Ramcharger is what the brand calls an EREV, or Long Range Electric Vehicle. In the official statement, RAM reported that the 1500 Ramcharger EREV can travel up to 1,100 kilometers per charge — according to the EPA standard.
RAM reported that the 1500 Ramcharger was “built to challenge distance”, but that doesn’t mean it will let down those who are already used to the performance and strength of the other trucks in the family.

Equipped with all-wheel drive, the RAM 1500 Ramcharger has a front electric motor with 239 hp and a rear electric motor with 323 hp. Together, they deliver an impressive 663 hp and 84.9 kgf/m of torque to the driver and are capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (approximately 96 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds.
The architecture on which it was built, STLA Frame, also made the Ramcharger the pickup with the largest payload and towing capacity in the family — 1,191 kg and 6,350 kg, respectively.
According to Stellantis, such configurations make the RAM 1500 Ramcharger “a game changer in the world of electric pickup trucks”. And how much will it cost? The brand has not yet revealed prices or an official launch date, but reservations are open to customers in the United States.
