It was supposed to be a time of joy and celebration. However, an American couple experienced a tragedy days after their wedding. Nate and Mariana Kuhlman, of Steubenville, Ohio, sealed their union on October 28 and traveled to Saint Lucia, in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, her husband died during the trip, three days after the ceremony.
“Nate tragically lost his life three days after his wedding. Nate was a wonderful husband, friend, son and brother,” said the post on the GoFundMe page, created to raise funds to cover funeral expenses, including transporting the body to his hometown.
According to information from broadcaster WFLA, Nate suffered an accident while water skiing. The family did not reveal details of what happened and local newspapers did not report the case.
“Words cannot describe the suffering that there is, for his story and for his family. We kindly ask for help to cover funeral and transportation costs,” the page added.
Nate’s mother, Heather Kuhlman, wrote a message on Facebook mourning her son’s death: “Nate’s death took us by surprise and took our breath away. It is very difficult and painful, but we are moving forward each day, one moment at a time.”
