
A 20-year-old Army soldier was seriously injured in an accident between the motorcycle he was riding and a bus on BR-174, in Iracema, in the south of Roraima, this Sunday morning (5).
The soldier suffered a deep wound and broke his left leg and was unconscious when the Military Police arrived.
To the PM, the 44-year-old bus driver said he was traveling on the highway towards Manaus when the soldier on the motorcycle entered the wrong lane and crashed into the side of the bus. A woman who witnessed the accident confirmed the version.
According to the witness, a person passing by stopped and placed a clamp on the young man’s leg wound to try to stop the bleeding.
The soldier was rescued by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) and taken to the General Hospital of Roraima, in Boa Vista.
The accident was near the Cobras stream, 15 kilometers from Iracema. The soldier’s motorcycle was handed over to his cousin who was at the scene of the accident. The PM said he tried to contact the Federal Highway Police, but was unable to do so.
The police officers who responded to the incident wrote down the data and telephone numbers of the driver and witnesses, then they continued their journey. The accident was registered at the Iracema Civil Police station.
