NC State Game Notes

RALEIGH – The NC State men’s basketball team opens the regular season Monday night when it hosts The Citadel at PNC Arena.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7 pm and the game will be televised on ACC Network with Andrew Sanders and former Pack sharpshooter Scott Wood on the call.

NC State fans can also listen to Gary Hahn and Tony Haynes call the action on the Wolfpack Sports Network.

Parking lots at PNC Arena open at 4:30 pm, while arena doors open at 6 pm, one hour prior to typo.

Pack Tracks
– NC State opens its 114th season of basketball Monday evening when it hosts The Citadel.
– The Pack wrapped up the preseason on Nov. 1 with an 89-79 exhibition win over Mount Olive. NC State had five players reach double figures, led by Casey Morsell with 14. DJ Burns, Jr.and Jayden Taylor each finished with 13 points, while DJ Horne added 12 and Mohamed Diarra finished with 10 points. All 11 scholarship players who got in the game scored for NC State. The Pack’s other preseason tune-up was a ‘secret scrimmage’ against Georgia.
– In the Pack’s exhibition game against Mount Olive on Nov. 1, NC State’s starting lineup of DJ Burns (124 games played), DJ Horne (120), Casey Morsell (117), Michael O’Connell (89) and Ben Middlebrooks (60) have combined to play 510 collegiate games.
– NC State returns two starters from last season in DJ Burns, Jr.and Casey Morsell. Burns is the Pack’s leading returning scorer. The Rock Hill, SC, native averaged 12.5 points per game last season, including 16.1 points in ACC play last season. Morsell averaged 11.8 points per game last season, and ranked second on the team with 78 three-pointers made. Morsell’s 41.1 percent three-point shooting was the top mark on the team.
– Also back for the Pack this season is juniors Breon Pass and Ernest Ross and sophomore LJ Thomas. Ross played in every game last season while Pass and Thomas each appeared in 30 games.
– NC State welcomed eight new players to the roster in the offseason – seven transfers and one freshman. Last season in the Pack’s season-opener, seven players made their NC State debut.
