(Sputnik) – Israeli air and missile attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed more than 60 Israeli hostages during nearly four weeks of aggression against the Palestinian enclave, Hamas’ military wing said on Saturday.
“Since October 7, Zionist attacks in Gaza have killed more than 60 enemy hostages. After search operations, the bodies of 23 of them remain under the rubble and it appears that we will not be able to recover them due to the continued and terrible aggression against Gaza,” the Palestinian group said in a statement.
On October 7, Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza, killing and kidnapping people in neighboring Israeli communities. Israel retaliated with missile strikes and a complete blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people. On October 27, Israel began a large-scale ground incursion into Gaza to eliminate Hamas and rescue hostages.
