Anyone who left home on Friday (3) during the weekend on the North Coast of Santa Catarina could face complicated traffic. The stretch of BR-101 between Balneário Piçarras and Itajaí is experiencing congestion due to an accident, combined with rain, a vehicle breakdown and the high flow of cars in the region.

Second Arteris Litoral Sul, the concessionaire that manages the highway, a vehicle left the road at km 106.8, heading North, around 6am. The left lane was closed for assistance, and was reopened around 7am.
The place recorded a 4 km queue, but at 9:30 am the flow was already back to normal. The accident had no victims.
Around 8am, a vehicle breakdown at km 118, in Itajaí, heading south, closed the right lane and left a 3 km queue. According to Arteris, the situation has also been resolved and the runway has been reopened.
Traffic blocked
Using the Waze app, the entire route between Balneário Piçarras and Itajaí appears in red, with very heavy traffic at a standstill and some reported water spots on the road due to the heavy rains that fall in the region.
