A fish did everything it could to avoid becoming food for a heron that thought it had already secured lunch. At the exact moment he was going to be swallowed, he “dribbled” his predator and escaped with mastery.

The video showing the fish’s feat was shared on social media by biologist Matheus Mesquita, who commented that he was impressed by the animal’s cunning.
The heron, in turn, tried several times to snatch his lunch, but he was quicker and managed to escape.
Mesquita also highlighted that it is very difficult for these animals to escape from herons, as they tend to prey on several of them in a single day.
“Once the fish is in these animals’ beaks, the chance of them being able to escape is very, very small.”
The ‘ronaldinho’ fish generated several comments on social media. In the biologist’s publication, internet users joked about the heron’s situation.
“The fish: not today, dear,” said one. “There is a fisherman story, now a FISH story is the first time,” joked another. “A successive wave of bad luck: for the heron”, published one user.
