The film “The Marvels” approaches its release date and will reveal a plot about the connection between the heroines Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) and Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Follow along!
“The Marvels” opens on November 9th in cinemas and features Captain Marvel connecting with Kamala Khan and Captain Monica Rambeau every time they use their super powers. The film takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame” and also features the villain Annihilator (Zawe Ashton).
And what is the personality of each of “The Marvels” like?
Played by Brie Larson, the heroine of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) has a 2019 film. She served in the United States Air Force and acquires her powers after fusing her DNA with that of the Kree hero Mar-Vell in an explosion.
In “The Marvels”, she recovers her identity from the Kree, people of the Kree Empire, — her past on Earth was “erased” — and takes revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But Captain Marvel is sent to an anomalous wormhole connected to a Kree revolutionary, causing her powers to connect to Kamala Khan and Captain Monica Rambeau.
In the hands of the villain played by Zawe Ashton, Carol Danvers will also have to answer where she was for almost 30 years and when Maria Rambeau, her best friend, died.
According to the website Screen Rant, “The Marvels” will show more about the heroine’s personality — little explored in the 2019 film.
“She has had decades to patrol the cosmos, discover who she is and continue to remember her life. This should allow ‘The Marvels’ to star a version of Carol Danvers whose personality is no longer hidden”, analyzed the website.

Kamala Khan, Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), is the number 1 fan of the heroine Captain Marvel. The character has a series released in 2022, available on Disney+.
In fact, her dream is to become Captain Marvel — which motivates her to participate in a cosplay contest. The teenage character discovers that she has powers through a bracelet from her great-grandmother found at home.
Kamala Khan is shown in the series as the owner of a rebellious spirit. Of Pakistani origin in the comics, she is Marvel’s first Muslim superhero, according to Disney.
In 2022, actress Iman Vellani told Variety what it was like to play Ms Marvel.
“Kamala, at the beginning of the series, is discovering how religion and culture influence her everyday life; It’s not something she’s neglected, but she doesn’t immediately see the value in it. We use Quranic phrases to guide her on her hero’s journey,” she said.
Kamala Khan’s maturity is an important trait in the heroine – who remains a fan of the Captain, but discovers herself as one too.
“She lives in fantasy land and finally gets that fantasy – of course, she’s going to make the most of it. As time passes, she becomes her own version of a superhero – still clumsy, because she’s not perfect.”
The post-credit scene of the last episode of the series shows the exchange of places between the fan and the idol. The movie “The Marvels” can show where Ms Marvel’s bracelet is.
Captain Monica Rambeau
She previously appeared in the series “WandaVision”. It was there that Monica Rambeau, a black officer, acquired her powers, after being sent to investigate the electromagnetic barrier that Wanda built around the city of Westfield.
When trying to cross the barrier for the second time, Monica Rambeau changed her molecular structure and acquired powers.
This explanation is different from the origin described in the Marvel comics, where Monica Rambeau tried to be a captain in the United States Navy and gained her powers after destroying an oil platform.
But her first appearance was in “Captain Marvel”, from 2019. Monica appears as a child (Akira Akbar), as the film took place in the 90s.
And there’s more!
That’s where we understand the birth of this relationship with Captain Marvel: it’s because of her mother, Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch). She and Carol Danvers were best friends while serving together in the US Air Force. Thus, Carol, Captain Marvel, was seen as an aunt to Monica.
But the heroine disappears — she goes to help the Skrulls — while Monica lives the adventure in “WandaVision”, which leaves her upset. Mainly because it didn’t follow Maria Rambeau’s death due to cancer amid the events in “Avengers: Endgame”.
According to the film’s director to Total Film Magazine, Nia DaCostathe open wound will be a central point between them.
“For a child who loses his aunt and then loses his mother, he feels like he has no family. But seeing that your aunt has appeared on Earth from time to time, and in space doing [coisas] to a lot of other people and also not being able to reconcile any of that because she’s never around, that can really create a wound. Monica definitely has a wound that she finally manages to resolve in this film,” she said.
In 2021, at EntertainmentWeeklyactress Teyonah Parris said that it was exciting to show the story of the black heroine in the series “WandaVision”.
“We can explore who she is, why she is here, what she wants, her goals, her desires, her ambitions. Seeing this black female character on screen, in people’s homes, and giving them the opportunity to engage with the humanity of black women, that’s the most rewarding aspect for me.”
Monica Rambeau worked at her mother’s company, SWORD, and at the end of “WandaVision” goes to the space station at the request of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). Finally, the The character also uses the codename Fóton.
