Party in the Sky is the film that will be shown this holiday (2/11), by All Souls, in the Afternoon Session, on Globo. A group of rowdy children are taken on a guided tour of the museum, as “punishment” for their bad behavior.
There, a different guide decides to take an alternative path and introduces them to the “Book of Life”, which contains all the stories. The most symbolic of them, based on Mexican traditions, involves three worlds. Catrina/La Muerte is a beloved ancient goddess, who rules the Land of the Remembered. She is the ex-wife of Xibalba, the ruler of the Land of the Forgotten, a trickster.
On a visit to the Land of the Living, they make a bet: if the young and beautiful Maria, daughter of the highest authority in the city of San Angel, chooses to marry the emotional violinist Manolo, Catrina wins and Xibalba will no longer be able to interfere in the world of the living. Alive, as you like to do. If the favorite is the brave Joaquim, Xibalba will also rule the world of the Remembered.
Original Title: The Book of Life
Cast: Ron Perlman, Christina Applegate, Diego Luna, Zoë Saldaña, Channing Tatum, Kate del Castillo
Director: Jorge R. Gutierrez
