Accident with leak of 35 thousand liters of diesel closes Bandeirantes Highway

One accident between a trailer and a tanker caused a diesel oil leak and completely closed the lane towards the capital of the city. Bandeirantes Highwayat km 63, in Jundiaíon the morning of this Thursday, 2. The intense traffic, due to the holiday prolonged Deadwas diverted to Rodovia Anhanguera.

O congestion reached 13 kilometers. According to the concessionaire responsible for the highway, around 35 thousand liters of fuel leaked onto the road. At 10 am, one lane was opened.

The accident happened at 7:25 am and completely closed the road due to the risk of fire. Traffic was diverted to Anhanguera, at km 59, where congestion was also recorded.

The driver of the trailer that hit the back of the tanker was injured and was taken to a city hospital. Teams were mobilized to remove the oil.

Technicians from the Environmental Company of the State of São Paulo (Cetesb) were mobilized to monitor the removal. There is no forecast for the road to be fully opened.
