The All Souls’ Day holiday began with a major accident on the highways that cross Espírito Santo. A collision between a passenger car and a trailer caused the death of three people late this Thursday morning (02), on BR-259, in Colatina, in the northwest of the state.
According to the first information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the accident occurred at 5:10 am, at kilometer 25 of the highway. At the scene, a silver Gol collided head-on with a white truck. So far, there are no details on how the collision happened.
The three people who died were in Gol and their bodies were stuck to the vehicle’s hardware, as informed by the Fire Department to the PRF agents at the scene. A fourth person who was also in the car was rescued alive by a Samu team and taken to a hospital in the region. There is still no information about her health status.
Teams from the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (Dnit) were called to provide support and signal the location of the accident, while experts from the Civil Police and the Fire Department carried out the work of removing the bodies of the accident victims.
Due to the accident, the track is partially closed.
