The Subway Socceroos begin a new FIFA World Cup™ cycle when they host Bangladesh in Melbourne on Thursday, 16 November.

Competitive football returns for Australia for the first team since the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ as Graham Arnold’s side begins its qualifying campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ and serves as solid ahead preparation of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ which kicks off in January.

The November FIFA Men’s International Window signifies the start of the Second Round of qualification, which the Subway Socceroos automatically entered courtesy of their #3 ranking within the Confederation at the time of the Official Draw, where Australia was drawn in Group I alongside Palestine, Lebanon and the winner of Bangladesh and Maldives.

This will be Australia’s third meeting against Bangladesh following 5-0 and 4-0 wins in 2015 as part of FIFA World Cup qualification for Russia 2018.
