An accident involving a motorcycle and a bicycle left two people injured this Wednesday afternoon (1), around 5 pm, in front of Jardim da Paz, in the Alterosas region, towards Jacaraípe, in Serra.
According to reports from witnesses at the scene, the incident occurred when a cyclist, a 59-year-old man, crossed the road without observing that the traffic lights were open for vehicles. The dynamics of the accident indicate that the motorcycle driver tried to avoid the cyclist, but was unable to avoid the collision.
An ambulance from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) was present at the scene, providing immediate assistance to the victims. The two victims, the cyclist and the motorcycle driver, were treated by the SAMU team and taken to medical care.
The initial suspicion is that the motorcycle driver may have suffered a broken leg due to the impact of the collision. Details about the victims’ health status have not been released at this time.
Local authorities, including the Municipal Guard, the Military Police Battalion and traffic officers from the Serra Operational Traffic Department, are on site to control vehicle traffic and prevent further accidents.
